*What Files You Can Send For Commissioned Projects*
Digital files sent via internet, should be sent at a high resolution, at apx 300 DPI (or close to, not below 200 DPI preferably), large enough for either a poster or print selection.
Print sizes is to be determined at time of ordering a project .
Mac or PC Computers: (Photoshop or image editing program, capable of these formats)
File Formats: TIFF, PNG, PSD, JPEG (*jpeg highest settings possible/some loss will occur in jpegs)
***Photographs Or Digital Files Used For a Commissioned Project***
For commissioned projects, you can send a photograph of yourself or subject, by preferably a digital file via internet, or by postal (snail mail).
Mailed photographs or images, should be insured by client, all shipping and handling costs are at clients expense.
Marc Kitaen / Special FX Photo©, does not assume legal responsibility, for any images sent to us, but will take every precaution to protect any mailed photographic images.
LEGAL ISSUES
All digital images or photographs supplied to us from customers, must legally be their rightful property and ownership. If you are sending a photograph of someone else, you must state so in your communications with me. You must also have been given permission from that person, allowing you to send their image for a project by us.
If you send a photograph taken by another professional photographer/photo studio, then you must have written permission granted by that company to use their photo image. I will need written proof from them & you, allowing me to legally proceed on your project.
Special FX Photo© / Marc Kitaen, is not responsible for clients sending photos/images of people, and not divulging (withholding) necessary information concerning who legally is represented in the actual files or photographic images sent to be used for a commissioned project.
Special FX Photo reserves the right to refuse any image, file or photograph sent to us, that a customer may wish to use for their project.
***A MODEL RELEASE IS REQUIRED TO BE SIGNED***
***IMAGE EDITING / PHOTO RESTORATIONS***
The client or subject is removed from the background image (erased or masked out). There may be other editing and adjustments done during this first stage initial process, including color corrections and minor retouching, blemishes, etc.
These steps described are considered part of the quoted price, and are part of and included in the normal design editing service fee.
When you supply MARC KITAEN with a personal photograph, or send a digital file, *all images sent must be of good quality.
They need to be in focus, not torn edges, no water damage, or other obvious problems that the client is aware of before any images are to be sent.
If a supplied photograph requires additional editing restorations or repairs beyond the normal design service fees, then additional costs will apply.
Additional restorations and image repair fees, (beyond the normal design service quote) are billed at $50 per hour.
If it is determined the files, images or photographs are not of high enough quality, or damaged beyond our ability to repair or use in a commissioned project, then the client is still responsible for shipping and handling costs, for the images or files to be returned to them.
